Megan and Jamie had a Fame Academy Final party last night, I’ve never
seen so many banners…all for Alex…so they were a little thrilled
to say the least when she won…

She was by far the most talented person in the Academy and deserved to
win it…but it doesn’t always work out that way…for once the right
person came out on top.

I can’t get used to not hesitating before I turn on the hot tap. With
the old boiler, the minute you turned on the hot water the heating went
off for an indefinite amount of time. So you get into the habit of
hovering with you hand over the tap….do I really need this or can I
boil a kettle.

I need hesitate no more!!!

Well we managed it within the ten year plan, just, we have finally had
the boiler replaced.

An unreliable boiler rates right up there with an unreliable car. The
reassurance that you flick the switch and the heating comes on is totally
unappreciated until you can’t. And being able to set the timer has been
unheard of in our house for years.

I am a happy (warm) bunny tonight.

Megan went out with a few of her friends to celebrate Rebecca’s birthday yesterday.
They went to MacDonalds and then went to the cinema to watch Spy Kids 3D. She
really enjoyed herself….

…then we took off for Blackpool with Jan, Jamie, Paula and Pete (Mike was
babysitting the boiler.) The girls had a ride or two….

then we took the tram up through the lights and walked through the bigger displays
…this one was Megan’s favourite….again….

a good time was had by all…tiring…but fun.

I’ve just been putting my garden waste wheelie bin out for emptying
tomorrow…I noticed the neighbours had theirs out…I keep
forgetting until the van is outside my house.

I mentioned to my next door neighbour that the bin hadn’t been
emptied a couple of times when I’d put it out because there was
only a bit in the bottom. He was saying that he had a word with
the bin men because they didn’t empty his because it was half way
down the drive, so he took it to the top for them to empty. They
wouldn’t do it because the van was three doors down and they can’t
empty the bin once they’ve gone past…definite jobs worth award.

The Harry Potter book series topped the American Library Association’s
top ten national banned-book list last year due to it’s focus on
wizardry and magic

……only in America!

Then we had everyone round to ours today to celebrate Steve’s
Birthday today and it just isn’t a birthday for Meg unless there’s
a birthday cake….
