Above the Below

Well he’s at it again…at 9:30 on Friday David Blaine entered
his glass box and is hoping to “hang around” for the next 44 days
emerging on the 19th of October.

As his only intake will be water, he is expected to lose about
45lbs over the six weeks…someone will probably turn it into the
next diet fad…”the Blaine Diet”.

His aim to isolate himself without any distractions hit a slight
glitch this weekend as members of the public pelted him with eggs,
golf balls and stones.

He is also causing major traffic delays over the bridge as people
slow down to catch a glimpse. It would be interesting to know the
total number of accidents caused by Mr Blaine rubberneckers at the
end of the six weeks…wonder if anyone will be sad enough to keep
score!!

School Dayz

Well Megan has finished her first week back at school.
She was a bit reluctant because she has another new
teacher, but she seems to have settled straight back
in to it. As per usual she hasn’t done any work, or
had any dinner…nothing new there then 🙂

Here she is looking smart in her uniform..unfortunately
it won’t last long.

Car Trouble

Posted by Kim in General at 2:43 pm | Permanent Link

When we were out on Saturday the boot on our Megane wouldn’t
unlock, which left us with one car with a locked boot and the
other with one that wouldn’t lock….real useful. We had to
replace the motor on the Megane….or I should say we wanted
to just replace the motor but of course had to buy the whole
unit…never mind it works now.

I had already had mine looked at by the garage who advised me
I needed a new lock putting on costing in the region of

Sundayz

Back to the gym this morning, trying to get back into some
sort of routine after getting back from holiday. Megan
and Steve went swimming and apparently she spent the whole
time blocking the stairs getting out to jump in again and
again like she did on holiday. She had another go without
her armbands and did very well, won’t be long now.

We watched Spiderman last night…not bad bit slow in parts.
But the big question on my lips is where did he get his
fancy lycra suit from (no I don’t want one for Steve), it’s
just that one minute he’s running around in jogging bottoms
and a naf tee-shirt and the next second he’s kitted out in
a snazzy lycra outfit. Answers on a postcard.

Chinese Banquet

Graham left work yesterday so we all went out for a chinese in
Bramhall. I’m not a lover of Chinese food, but I must admit I
really enjoyed the meal which was a mixture of different meats.
I got to try things I wouldn’t normally order and washed them
down with a vodka or two or three 😉 The banana fritters were
delicious, although I was a little worried I might see them
again some time in the night.

Everyone had a good time, apart from the guest of honour who
got drunk very early and did his usual disappearing trick before
we’d even had the meal!!

Brrrrrrrrr

Ok….who turned off summer!! I know we’ve had a great summer
but I’m not ready for it to end yet, another month or two would
be great. 🙂

Apparently this time last year we were having flash floods so
I suppose I shouldn’t moan….much

School Uniform

I could put it off no longer…school uniform time had arrived.

Megan spent the morning at gymnastics. She came out alot more
enthusiastic this time, very pleased with herself for walking
backwards along the beam and performing chin ups on the high bar.
She is now practising handstands all round the room.

Having tried on last year’s uniform we set off for Stockport to
get the required items. After two hours we did eventually get
everything we needed, a pair of cycle shorts proving the most
difficult and treated ourselves to some bonus items that caught
our eyes…well we did save money on Meg’s school shoes, last
year’s still fit 😉

Just teaching Megan how to play jacks…funny how the old ones
keep on coming round.

Back to Work

Posted by Kim in General at 7:06 pm | Permanent Link

Arghhh…don’t you just hate that first day back in work after
your holidays, especially when you know nobody has done any of
your work. As usual my desk had disappeared under piles of
client files. The major decision of the day being…where do
you start!!!

Mum and Dad took Megan to Lindow End near Macclesfield and as per
usual little info was forthcoming, all I got was that you couldn’t
feed the ducks!

Bank Holiday

Had a very lazy…sorry relaxing weekend enjoying the sunshine,
apart from catching up on some washing of course!

Our printer has taken to printing half a page then missing five
or six pages then printing the remaining half…extremely
frustrating. So, having spent an endless hour looking at the
variety of printers now available we settled on the Lexmark 706.
We have always gone for Epson printers in the past which have a
limited dpi, the Lexmark prints 2400 x 1200 and the results are
very impressive. I would highly recommend this product based on
printing performance, it just remains to be seen how long the
cartridges last.

Well at least Megan can now print out her pictures on one page 🙂

Washing Dayz

Posted by Kim in General at 7:02 pm | Permanent Link

My washing machine committed suicide a few hours before we went
on holiday so we had the added joy of buying a new one as soon
as we arrived back.

Now most people only go and buy a new machine when theirs has
already broken…so taking this into account why is it that it
takes days and sometimes weeks to get a new one delivered. We
paid extra money to make sure the machine was delivered asap
which in reality turned out to be 5 days. Surely on an essential
item like this next day delivery should be available..come on
Britain get your act together.
