One more sleep

Posted by Kim in General at 10:49 pm | Permanent Link

Well the race is on, can I get the new Harry Potter book read
before someone gives the plot away. I wonder if Megan would
agree to staying in all weekend with no radio or television…
probably not.

Good news!! The drawing out ointment worked, I will not have
to resort to sitting on Meg to get the dirt out of her finger.
Over the last few days the dirt came up to the surface and her
skin split tonight when she had a bath. Megan is very proud of
herself for getting it out of her finger herself.

I would be very interested to know exactly how the ointment
works, will have to look into it further, but not tonight have
to get up early tomorrow, lots of reading to do!

Roll on 21st

I haven’t really got caught up in the hype for the new Harry Potter
book and had no intention to rush out and buy it the minute it was
released. But I found out a little bit about the plot over the last
few days and realised that the book would probably be spoilt if I
waited too long to read it, which would be annoying having waited so
long for the next instalment.

Then the weekly Safeway leaflet dropped through the door this afternoon
advertising the fact that they are selling the book for only

At the Gym

Megan decided she wanted to try going to gymnastics again, a
couple of her friends from school go now. She tried it out
last year…we didn’t even get through the hour when she’d
decided she didn’t like it and wanted to go home.

She had a wail of a time, didn’t stop for an hour and came
out totally exhausted. She is now looking forward to going
again next week. Hopefully we are beginning to break the
habit of her kicking up a fuss and getting upset every time
she tries something new.

Another Scorcher

Posted by Kim in General at 7:58 pm | Permanent Link

It was another hot day today, but unfortunately like alot of
people I had to watch it through the window at work. Never
mind I’m off on Wednesday and guess what…they’ve forecast
rain!!

Megan stopped me before we went to school this morning and said
she had something she didn’t want to tell me. She must have
fallen yesterday when she was picking strawberries and got
gravel in her hand. Had she have told her Dad yesterday when
she did it he could probably have washed it straight out, but
now it has closed up sealing the gravel in her hand…Meg has a
habit of running away and not telling anyone when she has hurt
herself, which will one day I’m sure be disastrous.

Anyway, I went to the chemist to see if I was going to have to
sit on her and dig it out with a pin…but hopefully the drawing
out paste they have given me will do the trick.

Fathers Day

Posted by Kim in Family at 9:07 pm | Permanent Link

Another lovely sunny day. Went to the gym, did a spot of shopping
and then round to see my Dad. David, my brother and his wife
Heather came round and we had a spur of the moment BBQ. It was
delicious. We barbecued some bananas, dribbled some treacle over
them and added some ice cream…very highly recommended.

Megan went out with her Dad today. They went swimming and then
strawberry picking with her Nan, Gramps and Jamie. She picked me
some beautiful flowers, thank u Meg. They had a really good day.

It’s the Weekend

Posted by Kim in Family at 10:45 pm | Permanent Link

Started off the weekend with a fun night out last night…I got a
little drunk, but no hangover this morning. I’m just tired, can’t
cope with late nights, well early mornings anymore.

We did a little shopping and then popped into Jan’s. Jamie got a
swingball today and we started off supervising Megan and Jamie…
Megan has a habit of following the ball round and causing bodily
harm to whoever she is playing with, unintentionally of course 🙂
The kids soon got bored of playing and the adults were left to play,
well someone should make good use of the new toy!

Megan watered her plants tonight…well the plants and herself as
per usual.

Ah well time for bed. Apparently the average person falls asleep
in seven minutes, I think I can beat that tonight.

Back to School Again

Posted by Kim in Family at 10:30 pm | Permanent Link

Megan went back to school again today after yet another holiday. As
per usual she did nothing, ate nothing and talked to no one…but the
good news is she didn’t fall down and her knees are intact.

Good News!! Megan has done 26 jobs and completed her sponsored jobs
marathon. So be warned we will be round to collect your money 🙂
