Frustrating Day

Posted by Kim in General at 10:05 pm | Permanent Link

I spent five hours on Tuesday reproducing spreadsheets for Lloyds
with information they require for their claims analysis.

I walked into work this morning to an e-mail informing me they’d
changed their minds, could I reverse everything I’d done and now
produce revised spreadsheets….of course…no problem….it’s what
I live for…not!!

So after pulling my hair out for another five hours the requested
information was e-mailed to London. But I’m sure it won’t end there.
If they run true to form there will be an e-mail for me tomorrow asking
me to provide this information from the beginning of the year, a good
two weeks worth of number crunching…I think I’ll stay in bed tomorrow.

Good Read

Posted by Kim in General at 9:36 pm | Permanent Link

Just finished reading The Last Precinct by Patricia Cornwell,
the last book in the Dr Kay Scarpetta series. The books are
very well written murder mystery stories from the point of view
of the chief medical examiner. A must for anyone interested in
forensic science style investigative stories.

I thought I’d missed a few along the way, but unfortunately I
haven’t. But in checking the website I discovered that the
new instalment, ‘Blow Fly’, has just been released in time for
Christmas….hint, hint.

Happy 75th Birthday Mickey

Posted by Kim in General at 4:06 pm | Permanent Link

On 18th of November 1928 Steamboat Mickey was released and
the most famous icon in the world was born.

In 1929 he uttered his first words “Hot dogs..Hot dogs”.
On the 23rd of February 1935 Mickey starred in his first
colour cartoon and changed to the modern Mickey character
in November 1939. He has starred in over 100 cartoons and
films.

In November 2004 Mickey goes 3D when the computer
generated imagery animation film “Twice Upon a Christmas”
will be released.

What a transformation!!

Christmas Shopping

Posted by Kim in General at 8:03 pm | Permanent Link

We attempted to do some of our Christmas shopping via the
internet today. We managed to find a few things…all on
different sites of course.

For the time spent it wasn’t a very successful venture, but
it could have been worse, we could have spent the same amount
of time walking round the shops at least we were sat down
with frequent cups of tea and coffee.

Shocking Pressie

This looks like a good idea, it’s probably the only way I’ll get
on the computer from now on….

Now that Megan has her own blog I can’t get anywhere near
it….

Bottom 2003

Posted by Kim in Fun at 2:35 pm | Permanent Link

Steve and me went to see the fifth Bottom concert last night, ‘Weapons
Grade Y-Fronts Tour…not normally my sense of humour I’m more of a
Billy Connolly, Lee Evans fan… but have to admit it was very funny.
Their performance was excellent as per usual.

There are two guys who are never going to grow up, but why should they
when they’re having so much fun.

Bonfire Party

Posted by Kim in Fun at 2:25 pm | Permanent Link

We had a combined firework/birthday party last night which went with
a bang! (sorry)

Megan hasn’t been keen on fireworks, she hasn’t even come out of the house
up to now, but she really enjoyed it this year. She held a sparkler for
the first time, although as per usual she waited until we’d used nearly
all of them before deciding to have a go, typical.

Final Episode???

Posted by Kim in General at 10:26 pm | Permanent Link

Went to see this today, couldn’t wait til the weekend. I thought it was
better than the second film. The special effects were if possible even
better than in the previous films. The ending was excellent, and
everything is now perfectly clear (if I understood it correctly!!)

I hear there is talk of a fourth film, not sure that’s a good idea,
sometimes it’s best to let sleeping dogs lie.
