Blue Planet

Posted by Kim in Fun at 9:25 pm | Permanent Link

We took Megan and Jamie to the Blue Planet Aquarium today, we
hadn’t been before and I must say I was very impressed. I
expected it to be rows of endless tanks that all start to look
the same, where you struggle to find the animal that’s supposed
to be inside. It has been very well thought out in it’s set up
and variety. We particularly enjoyed the divers show and the
otters, very amusing. Megan’s favorite was the sharks and Jamie
couldn’t keep her hands out of the ray tank.

We will definitely be going again. For more info go to

Back from our Jollies

Posted by Kim in Family at 12:58 pm | Permanent Link

We’ve just got back from Turkey morning. An enjoyable relaxing time
was had by all. It was a beautiful place, we had a spectacular view
from the hotel overlooking the whole bay. I would highly recommend
a visit and am looking forward to seeing different parts of Turkey
in the future.

The only thing I couldn’t get to grips with was the money, but at
least I can say I have been a millionaire if only for a short time!

Things R Hotting Up

Posted by Kim in General at 9:38 pm | Permanent Link

Been enjoying the summer weather this week. Not the weather to
be in work though, especially with no air conditioning. We had
fans strategically placed throughout the office which did little
more than blow paper around everyones desks.

The only bad side to the good weather was the increased invasion
of the killer wasps…managed to sqwish one completely this week.
Carole wasn’t too happy…her file and her desk…sorry had to be
done.

On a completely different topic, I can’t get into Big Brother USA.
I thought it would be more entertaining than our version, but all
they seem to do is talk about evictions. They don’t seem to be
taking the time to enjoy the experience of being in the house
they’re too busy scheming. Unless of course this again is what
we are being led to believe by the footage we are being “allowed”
to see. Although I must admit the challenges have been more
entertaining than the British BB4 and I’ll probably keep watching.

Wasp Invasion

Posted by Kim in General at 9:32 pm | Permanent Link

We were invaded by wasps at work today. They were the sort that
dive bomb you then disappear under your desk…so you spend the
next quarter of an hour waiting for it to come out again…never
does though does it.

We’ve been trying out different pieces of equipment to find out
which is the most effective as a squisher. So far a note pad has
been the most effective…one blow…but a bit messy. Mouse mats
are very effective on glass..still a bit messy but leave the window
intact, unlike a rolled up newspaper which one of my fellow wasp
stunners managed to put through one of the windows last month
(management were not amused) 🙂

Anyway we came out victorious today…no stings, no breakages
and a decent collection of squished wasps.

Just for you Jamie Lou – the answer is an elephant. Here’s
another one just for you…which animal can’t stick it’s tongue
out?

I’m Back

Posted by Kim in General at 9:47 pm | Permanent Link

Sorry for the temporary disappearance…things to do, you know how
it is.

Firstly, Happy Birthday to my Mum for last Thursday, hope you had
a good day and all your wishes came true. We had one slight problem
though. Megan insists on a birthday cake for everyone…it’s just
not a birthday without one. But everyone has now given up smoking
which makes it rather difficult to light the candles…after much
searching we did eventually find some matches…pics to follow.

Went to the carnival on Saturday. Megan had a great day..apart from
the mini waltzers…she went a very peculiar colour and her eyes were
nearly popping out of her head. Then she made the fatal mistake of
closing her eyes…not good…she won’t be going on those again.

She went swimming with her Daddy again on Sunday. She is doing
brilliantly..she’s starting to swim without her armbands now…
well done Meg I’m very proud of you.

POP QUIZ: Which is the only animal that can’t jump?

I’ll leave you with that one…answers on a postcard…just
kidding, tell you tomorrow, if I remember.

Chinese Banquet

Posted by Kim in Fun at 9:03 pm | Permanent Link

Megan had a special night at Rainbows tonight. They started
off the night with a chinese banquet, which according to Meg
consisted of rice, prawn crackers and some fishie things.
Then she went with her cousin Bekki into the Brownies to see
some “real life owls”. All I’ve managed to get out of her
about them is that they were weeing alot! Anyway she had a
great night.

They want volunteers to go to the fire station with them in
September…I think I can manage that 😉

Roly Polys

Megan was practically strutting into gymnastics tonight. Jamie
had given her her leotards this weekend and Megan wanted to wear
one today. It must have made her feel the part, she told me how
she was going to do really well today.

She learnt alot of new things tonight which meant alot of
instructions which she hates and consequently she decided she
wasn’t going again when she came out…she’ll get over it. It
would help if she actually concentrated on the group she was
with rather than watching what everyone else was doing! When
we got home she didn’t want to take her leotard off 😛
