Curry Night

Posted by Kim in Fun at 1:24 pm | Permanent Link

Had an excellent night last night. It was Daniel’s leaving do
at work and he decided he wanted to go to Rusholme for a curry.
One of the people with us knew the owners so he ordered a
variety of foods for us, which was good because I got to try
things I wouldn’t normally order. The food was excellent, although
I was stuffed by the time I’d finished the array of starters we
had…I still managed to force a bit more down though?

And added bonus didn’t overdo it on the alcohol so was able to
cope with having my hair decorated at 8:00 this morning 😛

Paper Sculpture

Posted by Kim in Family at 9:32 pm | Permanent Link

Megan was very proud of the paper sculpture she made at
Rainbows tonight. Here she is showing off her creation.

And an added bonus…she wasn’t shattered when she came
home, unlike last week when things just went from bad to
worse no matter what I did.

I’m slowly drowning under paperwork at work, everybody is
trying to clear their desks before going on holiday and
unfortunately everything is ending up on mine. Oh well at
least the day flew by.

I had all good intentions when I got home of doing a few
odd jobs before taking Meg to Rainbows, but ended up trying
to knock myself out walking into the heating vent outside
and having to sit down before I fell down. I now have an
extra lump on my head which I am bound to forget about when
I wash my hair tomorrow…wait for the screams.

Wet Weather

Posted by Kim in General at 9:35 pm | Permanent Link

Oh well at least it saves me from having to water the plants.

Couldn’t get Meg out of bed again this morning, she had a good
12 hours last night. She’ll have caught up just in time to be
up early at weekend!

Claims bordereau day at work again today. Sarah, our computer
technician sat with me, she is hoping to make the process more
automated for me…time will tell.

Megan went to gymnastics again tonight, she persuaded her friend
Chloe to join tonight. They had a good time. I must admit Megan
is really impressive especially when she gets on the bar…I know
I’m biased…but she really is.

Monday Already

Posted by Kim in General at 8:08 pm | Permanent Link

We didn’t want to get up this morning. I left Megan in bed
until 8:00 which only leaves us half an hour to get ready,
but she was exhausted which is very rare. Why is it she
never wants a lie in at the weekend, this is one of life’s
great mysteries.

Megan is becoming more adventurous..she actually went to tea
at Chloe’s tonight. It was a definite no on Friday morning
when she was asked, but by the end of Friday she said she was
going, and surprise surprise she had a great time. The only
problem is that she now wants a playhouse in the garden like
Chloe’s…it has to have an upstairs…thanks Chloe.

Well back to my game, I’m into Super Bounce Out at the
moment, it’s very addictive. I’ll just have one more go 🙂

The Weekend

Posted by Kim in General at 10:17 pm | Permanent Link

Quite an enjoyable weekend all in all. Bit of shopping,
bit of socialising and plenty of relaxing.

Megan went swimming with her Daddy, Jamie and Gramps today.
Her Daddy said she did very well today, jumping in without
her armbands and attempting to swim without them. Jamie is
a great inspiration to Megan, she wants to be able to swim
like her…it won’t be long.

It’s something that’s very important to me. I didn’t have
the opportunity to go swimming very much when I was a child
and consequently didn’t learn to swim until I was 21. Although
I can swim, if I’m honest I still don’t enjoy it. I don’t want
Megan to miss out by not being able to join in.

It’s Raining

Posted by Kim in General at 10:31 pm | Permanent Link

Oh well I suppose it the good weather couldn’t last forever. Me
and Megan got soaked when we went shopping after school. The
heavens opened just as we came out of the shop and it’s very
difficult to move at any speed when you’re trying to control
a shopping trolley and six year old…the trolley went one way
and the child the other.

Talking of shopping, apparently on a well known brand of
sleeping aid tablets it warns you that the product “may cause
drowsiness”…duuuhhh!!

Rice Pic

Another beautiful day. It’s great to come home and spend
some time in the garden with Megan.

Meg went to Rainbows tonight. When I arrived to pick her
up they were playing games outside…she was really enjoying
herself. This is the picture she made…it’s made up of
different coloured rice…good idea must remember that one
for the holidays!!

Chillin

Posted by Kim in General at 8:23 pm | Permanent Link

Dropped Megan off at school, popped to the gym and then chilled
out in the garden with my book…no not finished it yet, nearly.

Had a quick computer lesson then went and picked Meg up.

We went to the library as promised after school..again it had
to be a new library. Megan is determined to use all the
libraries in the area…not too many to go.

Swing Low

Posted by Kim in Family at 9:19 pm | Permanent Link

Another tense day at work today…not sure how many more I can take.
My boss wants to see me again on Thursday regarding my contract, I
refused to sign it because they stated that because I was part time
I would have to make up the hours missed through Bank Holidays. We
have had this argument many, many, many times and I really haven’t
got the patience to go there again.

On a lighter note Megan went to gymnastics again after school, she
was brilliant. It was more structured this week. She was amazing
on the bar, hanging there like a little monkey. The trainer had
her moving along it, turning around half way across and lifting
herself up. She was confident on the beam, even going backwards
at one point…I couldn’t watch of course. Meg was very pleased
when the trainer complimented her.

Reading

Posted by Kim in General at 10:08 pm | Permanent Link

Sorry, been too busy to blog over the last few days. Every time
I’ve had a spare moment I’ve had my head buried in the new Harry
Potter book. I’m over half way through and it is brilliant.

Well had a busy day on Saturday..we went shopping and got Meg
kitted out with some new clothes. She seems to be going for the
sporty look and it definitely has to be lilac at the moment.

She wore some of her new clothes to go swimming with her Dad on
Sunday, she looked really cool. Quick trip to the gym then I
spent the afternoon in the garden with a very good book!!

Well back to the grind stone only another 300 or so pages to go.
